Rates & Reimbursement
Luc Psychologie has contracts with most health insurance providers.
Below you’ll find information about what applies to all clients and what’s important to know if Luc Psychologie does or does not have a contract with your health insurance provider.

Rates & Reimbursement – General Information
What applies to all clients?
Referral
To be eligible for reimbursement under basic health insurance, you always need a referral from a general practitioner, medical specialist, or coordinating practitioner (Generalist Basic Mental Health Care/BGGZ).
Deductible
The costs of treatment are covered by basic health insurance.
Your health insurer will always first apply the statutory deductible (and any voluntary deductible) to the costs.
Online treatment and contact
Online sessions, video calls, telephone consultations, e-health, and substantive email exchanges are billed and claimed in the same way as in-person sessions. They therefore appear as treatment sessions on the invoice.
Do you have questions about the invoice? Please contact us at administratie@lucpsychologie.nl.
Non-covered care
Some issues are not covered by insured mental health care, unless another diagnosis can also be made. Examples include:
– Adjustment disorder
– Specific phobias
– Relationship problems / relationship therapy
– Normal grief reactions
– Work-related problems and burnout
– Sleep-wake disorders
– Sports psychology counseling
If treatment is not (fully) covered, we will always discuss this with you in advance.
No-show (missed appointment)
You may cancel appointments free of charge up to 24 hours prior to the appointment.
In case of late cancellation or no-show, a no-show fee will be charged:
– Intake: € 125,-
– Treatment session: € 100,-
These costs are not covered by your health insurance. It is therefore very important that you cancel in a timely manner if you are unable to keep an appointment.

The rate billed is the rate agreed upon with the relevant health insurer and may vary by insurer.
The intake session is covered by your health insurance provider. If a diagnosis can be made,
the rest of the treatment at Luc Psychologie is also fully covered by your health insurance provider.
You can find more information about coverage on the website of NZa (Nederlandse Zorg autoriteit).

Rates & Reimbursement – Non-contracted
Non-contracted Care
Luc Psychologie does not (yet) have contracts with some health insurers.
How does this work?
– You will (usually) receive a monthly invoice.
– You pay this directly to the practice.
– You then submit the invoice to your health insurer.
– You will receive partial reimbursement through your basic health insurance.
The reimbursement varies by policy and is usually between 52% and 76% of the NZa rate. Unfortunately, the 100% reimbursement policy no longer exists. Therefore, you will always have to pay a portion yourself if I do not have a contract with your health insurance provider. Always check with your health insurance provider in advance to confirm your exact reimbursement amount and conditions.

Rates
I charge the maximum rates as set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). For an overview of the current rates, you can consult the rate finder on the NZa website or view this overview.

Barrier Criterion/ Hinderpaalcriterium
According to the barrier criterion/ hinderpaalcriterium (Section 13 of the Health Insurance Act), the reimbursement provided by health insurers for non-contracted care must not be so low as to constitute a barrier to receiving care. This is referred to as the barrier criterion.
